Knoxville, Tennessee
January 21 - 27, 2024
I’d like you to please follow along with my first adventure from January 21 to January 27, 2024, detailing my journey to Knoxville, Tennessee. The trip began with a pleasant breakfast in the American Airlines Admirals Lounge and a comfortable flight. However, I faced some transportation challenges upon arrival, eventually getting a hotel shuttle. After settling into the Home2Suites by Hilton Alcoa Knoxville, I enjoyed some ramen for dinner.
The following days were filled with work, home-cooked meals, and moments of relaxation, including orange juice for breakfast and creative leftover dinners. Minor inconveniences occurred, such as a lack of coffee at the hotel and a smoke alarm that went off while making popcorn. On my last day, I helped pack for the return trip, enjoyed shopping at the airport, and savored a good flight home. Overall, the journey was a successful mix of work and personal enjoyment!

Before boarding the plane, I started my adventure by having breakfast in the American Airlines Admirals Lounge. I enjoyed an in-flight movie and a snack in my first-class seat. After safely landing and obtaining my luggage, I had an adventure at Knoxville airport. Then, when I went to get my Lyft, it was canceled. So, I decided to take a taxi, but they were unavailable. Finally, I called my hotel, and they sent me a shuttle (I tried to reserve it earlier in the morning, but they said it wasn’t available). I arrived at my hotel (Home2Suited by Hilton Alcoa Knoxville), and after a long day of travel and unpacking, I ate a well-deserved bowl of ramen and watched some TV. After dinner and a little TV, I was tired and ready for bed.

I slept in a little and had some coffee, but then I had to go to work. After a long day of hard work, I made a yummy salad for dinner.

It was another workday. I had some orange juice and headed to the worksite. I made a fancy leftover breakfast bowl for dinner and watched some TV.

Last night, it was cold in the room, so I stole the blanket. In the morning, I checked my email and used the GPS to navigate to work. After work, I made another yummy ramen dish.

I woke up early today so that I could check out breakfast. It was a nice selection, but I decided to have orange juice and some Cheerios. Then, on our way to pick up a car, we stopped and grabbed a cup of coffee for the road. It was rainy all day today, and there was lots of traffic on the way back to the hotel. We didn’t return until late, but that was okay because I got to eat a yummy salad and relax.

It’s my last day/night in Knoxville. I was a little sad this morning when I went to get my coffee on our way to work because there was none at the hotel, but we stopped at Starbucks, which made me happy. After the little coffee hiccup, the rest of my day was great. I went to work and returned to the hotel around lunchtime. I washed some dishes and helped make some lunch. We worked a little while we ate. Then later I had a snack of popcorn, which I like a little burnt. The smoke alarm did not like burnt popcorn, so I had to assure the hotel people that we would not start a fire. I ended my night by having some noodles and watching TV.

This morning, I helped get organized and pack. That was a big job, but we made everything fit. I had to sit on the big suitcase so it could be zipped. Then, I checked out and took a taxi to the airport. I arrived safely at the airport and went through the X-ray tunnel with the luggage. That was both scary and exciting.! The TSA people were friendly, though. I took a picture with some bears and then found some huckleberry honey. Then, I sat on a fabulous rocking chair and ate a sandwich while drinking coffee. I got a window seat on the plane this time, which was a great view. The flight was a little bumpy at the start, but overall, it was good. I took a nap and had some snacks. With that, my first trip was officially a fun success!
